Zumba instructor, Fitness Instructor Specialist (FIS), Dance instructor and Choreographer and yoga instructor. Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, she started dancing at a very early age, training in Salsa, merengue, mambo, cumbia and bachata. She later expanded her repertoire to include Belly dance, Kizomba and Samba. One day Johanna decided to try out a local Zumba class and fell in love with Zumba immediately. In 2011 she became a licensed Zumba Fitness® instructor and an active member of ZIN (Zumba Instructor Network) and started teaching at various gyms in the Warrington, Horsham, Hatboro and Warminster, Pennsylvania.
In 2016 she started her own dance and fitness program called JFit programs. She is particularly passionate about bringing dance and the joy that comes along with movement to people who think they can’t dance for whatever reason. Everyone can dance! For a career Mom of 4, like so many—Johanna strives to balance a busy schedule and home life. While teaching Zumba at a local gym, a friend and Zumba student invited her to try a Yoga class. She was first brought to practice yoga to help with her anxiety but immediately discovered its healing power. It was then when her Yoga journey began.
In May of 2017, Johanna met Dana and it was love at first sight. He invited her to check out The Nourishing Storm studio in Hatboro. There, Johanna came to understand the universe’s purpose and started to connect the dots. In March 2019 she completed her RYT 200-hour yoga teacher training at Nourishing Storm. Johanna believes in personal growth as a way of life and not just a destination. Helping others find the peace and calm that yoga creates, while developing safe, strong practices guides her in her teaching, which is INSPIRING!
